A professional running analysis and retraining program based on The Running School principle is the most effective way to get rid of injuries in the long term, move better, run faster and improve in the sport of your choice.
Elite runner Jack came to see me after a referral from his GP. He was struggling with his running a year on from setting a 16 minute 5k PR. In part due to poor technique and part extended time spent sitting for his school studies he had become increasingly quad and calf dominant which was resulting in an increased overstride and a poor posterior chain (glutes and hamstrings) firing sequence. Within 6 weeks Jack was back enjoying full training with the potential to go even faster for less effort

Many people layer on distance/time/intensity on top of a dysfunctional movement pattern. That means inefficient, harder and slower running/movement. It also means you are at a high risk of injury.
We teach adults and children correct running technique to improve efficiency and reduce injuries using our unique coaching methods. Then we get you running faster!
No matter how young or old or the level of your running experience, learning the correct technique will result in increased efficiency, lowered risk of injury and increased speed; making running even more enjoyable.
We treat everyone like an elite athlete and everyone as an individual!
A Biomechanical Analysis is a 1 hour session where we will analyse your running on a treadmill using cameras and computer software to help us identify any inefficiencies in your technique.
Then we will analyse your movement using a Functional Movement Analysis (FMA) - looking in more detail as to how you move each body segment.
With the information from both the Running Analysis and the FMA a true picture of the clients needs can be identified, and then, effectively worked on via realistic goal setting.

Making the change
Improving running technique does not happen overnight. It is learning a skill and takes time, patience and repetition.
A combination of technique drills, activation, strength and mobility exercises comprise sessions which challenge mentally as well as physically to make the necessary changes.
It takes 6-8 weeks to make permanent changes in your movement patterns, some people may require longer if there are considerable problems. For that reason there is only an option of the 6 session plan, otherwise results cannot be guaranteed.
